Cathy, one of our Indianapolis travel agents, had this to say about a recent visit to Cancun, Mexico:
Recently I had a fantastic opportunity to travel to Cancun, Mexico. I visited about twenty resorts and I have picked a few of my favorites.
Riu Palace Mexico is located in the Riviera Maya Playacar area approximately 45 minutes from the Cancun airport. This resort is surrounded by beautiful gardens and has a wonderful, relaxing beach area.
Sandos Caracol is for the eco friendly. They have hiking & bicycle trails, natural lakes for swimming & boating, and children & teen activities.
The El Dorado Royale is an adults only, very large property with Casitas, villas & suites available. It is situated on over 2 miles of beach front with 12 locations for weddings and concierge services. They will be opening the El Dorado Generations for families November 1, 2013. This will be all suites with kid’s clubs and nanny services available.
If you’re thinking of a destination wedding, what could be more beautiful than this! El Dorado provides on-site wedding coordinator and assistants.
Still in the Riviera Maya region, if you are looking for family friendly resorts; I would recommend Azul Beach & Sandos Playacar. Azul Beach supplies strollers, pac n play, high chairs and toys for the babies & toddlers. They have partnered with Fisher Price for the toys that are available. Sandos Playacar has a category of rooms that are adjoining for families that want a little more space. Their club/arcade for Teens is outstanding.
If more activity/night life is what you want, then staying in Cancun closer to the strip is where you need to be. Secrets the Vine would be perfect for the wine enthusiast. They have over 250 different wines. They offer 6 white & 6 red wines as their house wines included in your all inclusive package. The Beach Palace and the Gran Caribe Real cater to the families with kids pools & water parks; connecting rooms to make a family suite; suites with bunk beds and even at the Gran Caribe Real there is miniature golf.
Last, but not least is the resort I stayed at for four nights; the Riu Palace Peninsula. This resort is absolutely fantastic. They offer great restaurants, wonderful service, several pools or if you prefer, a beach area. There is easy access to the pools, beach, and restaurants. All of this is included and all the rooms have spectacular views. Also, available are the adults’ only villas with their own infinity pool.
Hopefully, you can see that I had a great time and loved Cancun. Please give us a call to book your next vacation.
